Company: Green Story — B2B SaaS for carbon-footprint mitigation for fashion brands
My role: Senior Product Manager
The problem
Fashion brands face emission targets they miss; missing them means buying carbon credits. Green Story needed to go from consulting-style engagements to a scalable SaaS product — and then make it pay.
What I did
- 0→1: launched the SaaS platform for supply-chain carbon optimisation; scaled (1→10) the carbon-offsetting product for brands purchasing credits — the platform reached $225K MRR
- Roadmap → funding: built the product strategy from customer interviews, qualitative research, and usage data; that roadmap secured investor buy-in for Series-A funding
- Monetisation: launched subscription management (Stripe, Chargebee) that reached $1.2M ARR within six months
- Operating system: instituted validation loops (customers + CS + Mixpanel), cutting feature shipping time 25% and product-related customer queries 30%; drove a product-led growth model across product/design/tech/sales/CS — +25% pipeline, +20% MRR
What I'd tell another PM
Climate SaaS sells when it's framed as revenue protection, not virtue. The subscription module worked because it attached pricing to a moment of unavoidable spend (credit purchases), not to goodwill.
